A news item published 9/13 by WTXL Tallahassee contains video of the Ekos Magnolia Oaks Complex ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by FK Architecture Managing Principal Ted Hunton alongside representatives of McDowell Housing Partners.

As developed by McDowell and designed by FK, the $24-million affordable housing complex hosts 110 units in configurations ranging from one to three bedrooms.

“The five, garden-style apartment building community features surface parking, standalone clubhouse, media-room, fitness center, pool, tot lot and picnic area,” the article accompanying the video explained.

Ekos Magnolia Oaks Complex offers such amenities as a media center, game room, clubhouse, swimming pool, and inner courtyard featuring a playground. Each individual unit features walk-in closets and granite countertops.

“As housing challenges are felt across the country, the City of Tallahassee’s approach to increasing the affordable housing inventory locally is producing results, like Ekos Magnolia Oaks,” Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey said at the ceremony.
