A Great Day of Teambuilding on the Lake for FK Architecture
At FK Architecture, we are always excited about designing functional and fun spaces for our clients. Recently, we had the opportunity to design a great day for ourselves, spending time together as teammates. By boarding the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour, we began a morning of discovery and adventure on Lake Osceola, strengthening our culture and fostering increased camaraderie.

We know that our greatest asset is our people, and treating ourselves with a team-building trip to the lake was a wonderful opportunity," said Kimberly Hellekson, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. "It is hard to find the ‘right time’ for everyone, but this tour allowed many of us to get together and catch up."
On Thursday, May 30, 2024, two boats filled with FK team members headed out together to explore the chain of lakes and play tourists in our own backyard. It was fascinating to see the residential architecture being built on all three lakes. We do not see many single-family homes at our firm, so being transported into a different world of architecture in our own backyard was eye-opening – and so were the budgets. Winter Park, originally designed as a resort town in the 1880s, showcases a mix of traditional and modern architecture, and seeing our local community's evolution was impressive and inspiring.
The discovery of new and old designs sparked great conversations among us. It was a refreshing break from the workday, allowing us to catch up with team members we may not see each day. After the tour, we enjoyed lunch together as a team back at our office.
