FK Architecture Designs $25M The Fountains at Hidden Lake Affordable Community in Crystal River, Florida

Published in Senior Housing Business

Seniors Housing Business announced construction is underway on The Fountains at Hidden Lake, an FK Architecture-designed affordable senior housing facility. Situated along Florida’s Nature Coast, the $25 million, four-story community, developed by Housing Trust Group (HTG), will host 81 one- and two-bedroom units for residents over age 62 who earn at or below 40 and 60 percent of the region’s median income. The complex, being built on a seven-acre parcel of land, will encompass 81,000 square feet of living space.

Amenities will include a ground-level clubroom and fitness center, horseshoe court, community center, resort-size swimming pool, and dog park. Rents start below $600 per month and go up through $1,000 for living units ranging from 654 to 952 square feet—with rents including assistance with grocery shopping and laundry.

FK Architecture is serving as the architect of record for the project. Project partners include general contractor BDI Construction, Hamilton Engineering & Surveying, interior designer Builders Design, and landscape architect Forward Planning & Design. Construction is slated to be completed late in 2025.

“The need in Citrus County for this type of housing cannot be overstated. It is so important that we continue to provide senior renters with communities where they can reside and thrive within an active, supportive environment,” said FK Architecture Managing Principal Ted Hunton. “When completed, The Fountains at Hidden Lake will provide modern housing at affordable rates for county residents most in need of safe and secure living arrangements.”
