Building the Next Generations of Architects

Uplifting the community and paving the way for the next generation of architects are core values at FK Architecture. The Robert and Joanne Koch Scholarship for Architecture applies to graduating high schoolers from one of the following three Central Florida counties: Orange, Osceola, or Seminole. The applicant must be enrolled in the first year of an accredited architectural program at a school of architecture in Florida (i.e. 2+2+2 program (Valencia College + UCF + UF), Florida State, Florida A&M, University of Miami, etc.…), or first-year acceptance to the University of Florida's School of Architecture in the College of Design, Construction, and Planning. Providing opportunities for prospective architects is incredibly important and valuable to the industry, and FK is proud to make architectural education more accessible through this scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one student for their educational institution and may be used for tuition, housing, or other fees associated with the student's academic program. Applications for the scholarship are due and must be postmarked by April 28th, 2023.

"Here at FK, we're dedicated to finding ways to support future architects in our local community," said Ken Linehan, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. "We hope this scholarship helps the recipient achieve their goals and lead them to a successful career in architecture."

The scholarship is awarded on a merit-based system. To apply, the student must have the following: an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher, two letters of recommendation, a 1,000-word or less essay indicating how they plan to make a difference in the world with a degree in architecture, copies of their standardized test scores from the College Board or ACT, and a permanent family address in Orange, Osceola, or Seminole County.
