Bright Future with Innovation, Technological Advances

The 40th World of Modular Convention & Tradeshow wrapped up its annual conference, which brought together thought leaders from around the world to share industry insight and identify future trends! The four-day event took place at the famous Bellagio Resort & Casino, featured the convention’s largest-ever exhibit hall, and saw over 1,500 attendees from more than thirty countries participate in the event.

Over 50 break-out sessions with 92 presenters/speakers took part in showcasing the latest business developments, technological advances, and strategies in the commercial modular construction industry, including:

  • Innovation and Futurism in Modular Construction

  • Waste Reduction Practices in Modular

  • Managing Change in a New Business Reality

  • MEP and Sustainability Through Modular Design

  • Scaling Modular Construction & Smashing Barriers to Adoption

  • Modular Manufacturing for Large Scale Projects

  • Regulatory Issues & Opportunities for Modular Construction

  • Augmented Reality, BIM, & Improving Process in Modular Construction

  • Offsite Modular & the Renewable Energy Paradigm

  • Using Your Supply Chain to Scale Intelligently

The convention was spearheaded by three keynote speakers, featuring economic trends expert and industry-favorite Anirban Basu, technology strategist and futurist Crystal Washington, and former NFL wide receiver, now leadership and management coach Eric Boles. Throughout the multi-day convention, there were various networking events with industry leaders which provided the opportunity to identify areas for growth in the field, share exciting updates about projects, and strategize about how to incorporate modular construction in a wider array of projects.

FK’s Managing Principal, Gary Badge, and Senior Designer Manny Lamarche, attended the conference for the second year.

“The future of modular construction is bright and full of innovative minds looking to push the industry even further,” said Gary. “The World of Modular Convention ups the ante every year, and the speakers, presentations, and atmosphere for the 2023 event were unrivaled. I’m excited to apply the insight and methodologies discussed during the conference into our practice and serve our clients with high-quality, sustainable services.”

“The convention is a remarkable feat of networking and industry cooperation,” said Manny. “The sheer amount of creative and innovative thinking in the modular space is astounding. From business strategies, cutting-edge solutions using BIM in modular construction, and improving process controls, there is a vast supply of information and ideas that our firm and clients will love to incorporate.”

Gary and Manny are FK’s premier experts in the modular design space. They have provided interviews, articles, presentations, and guested on podcasts detailing modular design’s advantages and how it helps firms capitalize on market inefficiencies, more efficient project organization, improved quality control measures, reduced waste/improved sustainability efforts, and avenues to combat material and labor shortages that pressure the marketplace.

We hope to see you at next year’s conference in Las Vegas from March 27 – March 30, 2024, at Modular Building Institute’s 41st event! Please visit World of Modular’s Registration Page over the coming months to register for the conference.
